Pregnancy Yoga

It is important to encourage mums to be to maintain their health and fitness whilst promoting relaxation and preparing the body for labour.

With in the private sessions I  focus on physical postures that will help strengthen  and support the body through the pregnancy as well as during labour, A prenatal yoga practice allows us to slow down and focus attention on what is going on within our bodies. Breath work plays an important role,  which is a great tool during the contractions. If we are consciously breathing, our blood pressure and heart rate is regulated which helps to keep us relaxed. Through practising  pregnancy yoga, you are setting the intention of taking care of both you and your baby. The nuturing session will leave you feeling relaxed and revitalized.

Through deep breathing, the nervous system goes into parasympathetic mode, which is the key to relaxation. This also encourages smooth digestion,  a better nights sleep and improves the immune system.

Increases circulation

Circulation is enhanced within our joints. which can reduce swelling and creates a healthy environment for a thriving baby.

Preparation for Labour through Pranayama

Pranayama  encourages  relaxation, develops concentration and creates a connection with the baby through pregnancy. This is reflected in the labour where the varied breathing techniques can reduce anxiety levels and the mum can focus on breathing the baby out.
